History: After four seasons with the youth teams of Dunajska Streda, on 2011, Laszlo Benes moved out of Slovakia, directed to the Hungarian team Gyor FC. In Hungary he played for three years, improving his talent so much that he made his professional debut with the first team on 16/12/2014. During the 2015 Jennuary transfer session he moved to Zilina, one of the best Slovakian team of the moment, where many young players are important part of the team. With Zilina he finds his talent and show it to the rest of the world. He made his debut with the new team on 04/04/15 during the game against Kosice (24 leg), coming in the pitch in the last 9 minutes of the game (won 4-1) . He was used as second half sub for the successive five matches. In the last two games of the season, when Zilina was sure about the qualification in the next Europa League, being 2nd on the table, he played as starter, against Trencin (1st on the table) and Trnava (3rd place). Both games were won from Zilina, with great performance of Laszlo Benes that caught the trust of the coach Adrian Gula, becoming a starter in the successive season. The 2015/16 season started on 02/07/2015 for Zilina in the game against the North Irish team FC Glentoran. Benes, playing as offensive playmaker in a 4-2-3-1, played 90 minutes and made one assist in the 4-1 victory of the team. After this win, Benes and Zilina won the subsequent matches against Dacia and Vorskla, reaching the play-off round, the last game before the group stage. Zilina found on his way one of the best team of the round: Athletic Bilbao. The two games against the spanish team were, in my opinion, the demostration of Laszlo Benes pure talent. He played as Central-right midfielder showing his best qualities: key passes, vision, quick mind, dribbling and personality. They played the first game in Pod Dubnom, the home stadium, in front of 10.000 fans. After the first half, where Athletic Bilbao scored two goals, Zilina reacted scoring three goals and winning the game. Laszlo Benes was one of the best player on the pitch. He made the assist for the 2-2. In the second leg of the play-off round, in San Mames, Bilbao, Zilina was defeted 1-0, and eliminated from Europa League. Benes was again one of the best player of the match. Now (28/09/15) he made 11 apparences in Fortuna Liga and 8 in Europa League. In those 19 games he scored two goals and served five assists.
Technical qualities: Laszlo Benes is a quality player able to play the ball with technique and skills. He hes a great shooting ability, he likes to shoot with effect with his left foot from the right side of the opponents penalty area. He has a great vision of the pitch and a quick mind that allows him to make the right decision in the right time. He is very good in the last pass as he is in the playmaking. He is a great free kick/corner kick kicker. He is a player that can play in any levels team, being able to play as well in the short spaces of a big team and at the same time in the wide spaces of a small counter attacker team.
Mental qualities: He is very imaginative and creative, he likes to show is talent with many tricks and skills (mostly back-hell and roulette). He is a confident player, he knows how good he is and it's mirrored by his playing style. He is not very aggressive but he often made fouls, very often after that he loose the ball.
Physical qualities: He is small and quick, agile and with excellent reflexes. He is not very strong in the takles and that's for his low weight. He has run and a good resistance.
Position: He is a creative midfielder, with playmaking and offensive qualities. He has not, in my opinion, at this moment, the defensive qualities to play in front of the defense. He is more a number 8, playing like Iniesta and Pjanic in the high side of the midfield, or as a number 10 playing behind the striker.
Weaknesses: 1) He uses to foul the opponents after he loses the ball. 2) He uses to manage the ball in situations where is better to do a quick pass. He find himself in situation where can serve a simple pass, helping the team play, but he prefers to do another one dribbling. When it happens, not very often, it expose his team to big problems.
