FK Metta is a Latvian club located in Riga (Latvian Capital). They was founded on May 2, 2006 from the ambitious willness of Andris Riherts and Girts Mihelsons.
The team was created with the aim to give to youngsters, from all around Latvia and of any age, the chance to develop their football skills and to find in their future the possibility to play in any other European bigger League.
In 2007 FS Metta and University of Latvia made a senior team (FS METTA/Latvijas Universitate) that partecipated in the Latvian Second Division (Traffic 1. līga). They finished that season in the 4th position. 
Four years later, during the season of 2011, FK Metta reached his first achievement: winning the Second Division and being promoted to the Latvian Highest League, Virsliga. 
During their first season in Virsliga, FK Metta, the youngest team of the league, avoided the relegation, having reached the 8th position (on 10 teams) with 29 points.
They continued to fight, successfully, against the relegation during the next three seasons, in spite of their very young age average.
They achieved amazing results out of the pitch too, gathering some of the most briliant coaches of all Baltic Countires, preparing in their academy system more then 800 players and gaining the possibility to train in the most important training facility of Riga, the Riga Olympic Sport Center.
FK Metta type of project attracted the attention of many European clubs interested in scouting the young talents produced by their academy system.
In the last years, FK Metta is achieving amazing results concerning the Academy System: They won, every years, since 2010, the "Best Latvian Youth Academy Award". They also use to organize high level International tournaments, where they use to face the youth teams of European best clubs. The last tournament won by FK Metta (U13) was the Riga City Cup (02/16) where they won the title against more important teams like Malmo and North Ireland.
