Jason Cummings's Career Started With Heart Of Midlothian, The Team He Supports, One Of The Two Teams Of Edimburgh With Hibernian. He Played For Five Years In The Youth Team Of Heart, Until During The Season 2010/11, When He Was Only 15 Years Old, He Suffered A Cruciate Knee Injury That Threatened To Ruin His Career. “I Was About 15 When I Got The Injury. I Was Devastated. I Stayed In My Room For Days. I Thought That Was Me, Football-Wise, And I Was Looking Elsewhere For Jobs. I Was With Hearts At The Time But Wasn’t In There Full-Time. They Didn’t Do Anything For Me. I Had To Do Everything Alone. I Remember Having To Wait Four Weeks Just To Get A Scan. Hearts Could Have Done More To Help Me. Thanks To My Family And The NHS, We Managed To Get The Operation. The Rejection From Hearts Is Always At The Back Of My Mind. It Drives Me On." After He Was Realeased By Hearts, Jason, Decided To Play For A Local Boys Team In Edinburgh, Hutchinson Vale. During That Period He Also Worked As Gardner. He Made An Amazing 2012/13 Season Scoring Many Goals, Catching Hibernian Eyes. Hibernian, The Historical Rival Of Hearts, The Team He Supports, The Team That Abandoned Him. He Signed For Hibs In The Summer Of 2013. He Made His Debut On 09/11/13 In The Premiership Game Against Inverness. Hibernian Suffered A Terrible Season, Being Relegating To The Play Out In The Saving Game Against Hamilton. Jason Was Only 18 And He Was Playing The Most Important Game Of The Season, Trying To Save The Team From The Relegation. He Scored Twice Helping The Team To Win The First Game. During The Second Leg Hamilton Played An Amazing Game Defeating Hibs 0-2, Scoring The Second Goal At 90'. After The Extra Times, There Were The Penalty Shoots Out. Jason Was The First For Hibs, He Missed. Hibs Looses And They Were Relegated. “I Was Devastated. I Felt Like I’d Let All The Boys Down. It Was An All-Time Low. I Was Hearing That There Would Be Job Losses At The Club Because We’d Been Relegated. And I Felt Guilty , Like It Was All On My Shoulders. The Fans Were Distraught And It Took Me A While To Shrug It Off. But I’m A Better Player And Person For It. When You’ve Hit Rock Bottom Nothing Will Faze You After That. That Night I Just Locked Myself Away. I Met My Agent, Alan Houldsworth, After The Game And He Helped Me. For A Few Days I Slept A Lot. I Don’t Think I Left The House That Week. But I Got A Surprise Phone Call From Barry And That Helped. He’d Missed A Penalty In The UEFA Cup Semi-Final Against Fiorentina For Rangers. He Told Me To Keep My Head Up. He Said I Had Plenty Of Time In My Career To Make Up For It. He Gave Me A Lot Of Great Advice. That Was Good Of Barry To Take Time Out To Speak To Me. If It Happens Again, I’ll Be More Ready For It.” Falling In The Scottish Championship Jason Find His Old Former Club, The Club That Abandoned Him, Hearts. He Started The Season As Reserve, Being A Sub For The Last 20 Minutes. He Play From The Start The Fourt Game Of The Season, Against Alloa, He Scored. He Scored Again In The Successive Game. Again, After Two Weeks, He Scored Twice Against Rangers, Describing His Own Performance In That Game As "A Touch Of An Angel". In The Afternoon Of 26/10/2014 He Found On The Pitch The Hearts. The Game Tied 1-1, With Jason Being Part Of The Hibs Goal With His Shot Deflecting To Malonga. He Found Hearts Two Times Again In That Season, Scoring Two Goals And Silencing Who Leaved Him. He Finished The 2014/15 Season Scoring 21 Goals And Serving 10 Assist. He Was The Championship Top Scorer. The Team Was Close To Be Promoted But They Looses The Play Off Game Against Rangers For 2-1, The Goal From Hibs Was Marked By Jason. “I Just Want To Get The Best Out Of My Career Now. I Have International Ambitions As Well, Whether It’s With The Under-21s Or The Full Squad. I Want To Score In Every Game. If I Don’t Score I Come Off Raging. If I’ve Scored One I’m Unhappy That It Wasn’t Two And If I Get Two I Want It To Be Three. That’s The Way I Am.” |
