CAREER
Jhonny started his career at SD Aucas where he made his national championship debut on May 4, 2016 playing the entire game against Delfin tied 2-2.Until the end of that season he made 8 appearances with 2 goals. The following year he was loaned to CS Norte America where he played 18 games with 2 goals. He returned from loan at Aucas and began to establish himself permanently in the first team from the beginning of the 2018 season becoming a staple so much that he played 39 games with 2 goals and 4 assists. In the 2019/2020 season he played 22 home games between the national championship and the cup with 2 goals and 3 assists and in August of the same season he was loaned to the Dutch club Willem II with whom he made his eredivisie debut on 15 September 2019 against Heracles Almelo taking over 20 minutes from the end. In total, he made 12 appearances for a goal in December of that year between the under-21s and the Dutch league. At the beginning of the 2020 season, he missed most of the first few months due to a knee injury and returned on 19 August in a 2–0 win over El Nacional.Until the end of the season he made 21 appearances with 6 goals and 2 assists. In this season he made his debut on 20 February against Mushuc Runa and between the league and the South American Cup he has so far made 10 appearances with 5 goals and 2 assists. He was called up to the national team for the first time in the Under-20 selection and won in a friendly on 30 March 2017 against South Korea and participated in the same year in the Under 20 Championship.Il 13 October 2019 World Championship make his debut in the major national team against Argentina and his second appearance in the match against Bolivia played recently on March 29, 2021.Player with a sure future that can prove to be an important player and impose himself in reality and competitive championships.

Jhonny is a modern central midfielder with strong physical skills. He has a unique ability to play between the lines and fit in to be effective in the opposing area where he often stands out for finalization or key pass for teammates. It combines an excellent basic technique with an excessive physical power that makes it dominant in some situations of the match. Good interdiction, game vision and high head to always look for the best solution. Very effective in aerial duels and contrasts in a particular way which makes him a complete midfielder capable of breaking and setting the action in addition to following and finalizing it. He loves the challenges and the matches felt and can improve again in personality and impose himself in championships certainly more competitive.
