After playing as a kid for the Haaglandia Jeugd club and then for the ADO Den Haag one, on July 1, 2016 Bannis joined the Feyenoord Academy, growing up in all the youth teams until the U21 level. During his path within the Dutch professional team, Bannis stood out for his qualities, recording from the very beginning impressive numbers: for this reason, after only two years (May 24, 2018), the club made him sign his first professional contract. His debut in Eredivisie dates back to August 4, 2019 in the game Feyenoord-Sparta Rotterdam ended in tie, with 2 goals on each side. Meanwhile the young footballer kept on play with both the U19 and U21 squads, proving his worth every single game. From season 2017/2018 to the mid-season 2020 Bannis played 69 games (104 minutes in average per match) scoring 36 goals and providing 5 assists in the youth leagues. On November 1, 2020 he scored his first goal in the First Dutch Tier, leading his team to victory by 3 to 2 in the 94th minute. On January of the next year, Bannis went on loan for the remainder of the season to FC Dordrecht, a Dutch club which competed in the Second Tier; even here Bannis turned out to be an extremely important player: in the 17 games he played, he recorded 5 goals and 3 assists. In the current season he has returned to wear the Feyenoord shirt; until now he played only 2 games for a total of 14 minutes, but he scored one goal. For what concerns his international career, he was called up to represent Netherlands beginning at U15 level. During the years he played 32 games, recording 14 goals. With the Under-17 national team, he won the 2019 European Championships in Ireland scoring in the final match against Italy. Nowadays he decided to play for Morocco, beginning from U23 squad. TECHNICAL DESCRIPTION
Naoufal Bannis is a very good centre-forward and finisher, who is primarily known for his offensive movement off the ball in the insertion phase, as well as his ability to make attacking runs and exploit spaces above all inside the box. Beyond his great pace, he has a great use of his physique, which enable him either to protect and hold up the ball with his back to the goal or take advantage of openings in the opposition's defense, running to meet through-balls and crosses, moving with intelligence inside the box and attacking aggressively the goal. Despite his young age, he proved more than once to be particularly confident in 1 vs 1 against the goalkeeper, kicking the ball with extreme detachment and indifference. In addition to scoring goals himself, Bannis is also a great assist man. As a matter of fact he constantly plays with and for the team, being always in the right place at the right time. Thanks to his speed and his good technique in the dribbling game, he can also play as right or left winger, but from my point of view he is more incisive as a forward or as an attacking midfielder. He is an accurate penalty taker. Another characteristic to point out is his incredible incisiveness in matches: even if his percentage of ball touched in average per game is quite low, he proved to have great opportunist skills for his young age. To sum up Naoufal Bannis is a talented, fast, skillful, right-footed player, with a good technique and a good physical structure who, despite his young age, has a great awareness of his potential; for this reason, every time he takes the field, he tries to help the team always giving the best of himself. In my opinion this player, if well developed and promoted can become a good opportunity for many clubs. CHARACTERIAL DESCRIPTION
Naoufal is a very calm and introvert boy, but despite his quiet charachter he is very much respected for his skills during the match and especially on trainings, being a technical leader precifically in his experience at Dordrecht. He is a very ambitious guy but yet very humble thanks also for his multicultural background; his family comes from Marocco and their education has given him a big sense of belonging to the maroccan culture, demonstrated by his choice now to play for Marocco U23.
