Vincent Gruber is a goalkeeper with a good physical structure given his 185 cm and the possibility of growing further. He is very reactive in close shots, quick to go to the ground and make saves even in backlash. He has explosive strength in his legs which allows him to get off the ground well and have greater elevation. He has an excellent positioning between the posts on long shots and is good at covering the mirror when he goes to meet the opponent to reduce time and space. He is brave in the high and low exits where he has a good timing and is not afraid of a clash. He is a good penalty shooter. He is an outstanding goalkeeper, he has a very good timing in low exits and agility in the goal.
He has great strength in his legs, thanks to which he unleashes great saves made of excellent reflexes and good instinctive skills on close shots.
He has also a good right foot, the defenders often pass him the ball for a precise long pass to the full backs or striker. He uses to go out of the goal frequently to anticipate the opponent fowards.
