CAREER

Wanderson Costa was one of the most important players of Olympiakos Youth Teams since 2007 when he joined the club. In the summer of 2010 he was really close to a move in Italy, but he had problems in getting his italian passaport. When he was 17 years old he moved on loan to Doxa Dramas, in Greek Second Division, to gain minutes and experience. He played with the team only 13 games without having the possibility to show his talent. South african club Ajax Cape Town, during the summer of 2012 took him from Olympiakos offering to the player a very good contract for his age, he was just 18 years old. There he played 18 games scoring 3 goals. He had big expectation on himself, and at that young age in a so difficoult country like South Africa he wasn't able to manage and adapt. He came back in Greece in the summer of 2014, signing for Apollon Smyrni. At the age of 20 he finally started to show all his talent. He quickly became one of the best players of the team, showing his skills and impact on the game. At the end of his experience with Apollon, after two seasons he had 54 apparences and 11 goals. In the summer of 2016 he signed with Pas Lamia. With the club he played a full season as regular starter with 29 apparences, 1 goal and 1 assist. Has played in the last 2 years in Beroe as regular starter collectin 4 goals and 6 assists.

DESCRIPTION

​Wanderson is a superb dribbler, very fast in the long range and as well in quick movments. Good ball controll, creativity and insight. He has also a powerful body balanced by his low centre of gravity. He can play at the same time on the left wing and on the right. He has a very good kicking technique, often chosed as free kick/corner kick kicker. He is a competitive and aggressive player, interested in the result of the game, he don't play for him self, you can see him support the defense with long run and aggressive pressing on the opponents.
