CAREER

Frelih is a youth product of Bravo, and began his senior career in the Slovenian third division in 2015. He was later the reserve goalkeeper at Celje and Domžale. Frelih transferred to Krško in 2017, and made his first senior appearance with them in a 0–0 Slovenian Football Cup tie with Ilirija 1911 on 16 August 2017.He made his professional debut with Krško in a 1–0 Slovenian PrvaLiga loss to Olimpija Ljubljana on 8 April 2018. In 2019, he moved to Croatian club Inter Zaprešić. There, he scored his first goal of his career in a 2–2 draw with Istra on 4 October 2019 in the 92nd minute of the game. After earning his spot as a starter there, he returned to Slovenia and signed with Olimpija Ljubljana in August 2020.

Ziga Frelih is one of the most interesting goalkeepers in the balkan area. During the season 2020/21 he had 17 clean sheet games out of 39 games played. In the last season Olimpija won Slovenian Cup, got third place in the table and qualified for the Conference League. He was called up by Slovenian Senior National Team as reserve of Jan Oblak for the World Cup Qualification Games played in March 2021.

Frelih was a youth international for Slovenia, having represented the Slovenia under-21 team.

DESCRIPTION
Frelih is an outstanding goalkeeper, very tall (197cm) but despite his height he has a very good timing in low exits and agility in the goal.
He has great strength in his legs, thanks to which he unleashes great saves made of excellent reflexes and good instinctive skills on close shots.
He has also a good left foot, the defenders often pass him the ball for a precise long pass to the full backs or striker. He uses to go out of the goal frequently to anticipate the opponent fowards.
​Very good concetration during the game, has an outstanding clean sheet during the year especially in big matches.
